Here to Cheer you Up

Sakura petals danced lightly in the breeze. It was spring in Konoha, and the village was alive with activity. Under a Sakura tree stood a small girl of about twelve, tears running down her dusty cheeks as she stared at the ground.

Reiko! you're never going to amount to anything if you can't even throw a damn kunai straight!

Her brother's harsh words rang in her head, making the tears come faster. She didn't hear the soft tap tap of footsteps approaching,nor pay any mind to the shadow that fell across her.

Hey! Reiko..why are you...crying? is everything ok?
The voice was loud but caring, a hand fell gently on her shoulder and she glanced up , her dark brown eyes wide.

Ts-Tsuri-chan is being m-mean she stammered, while the other cocked her head. She was Shizako Nara, A chunin of the village and one of the few people who treated her with nothing but kindness and understanding. Her dark blue eyes were slightly narrowed in concern, and she sighed before smiling at Reiko.

Kiddo..She began, placing a hand on Reiko's head and ruffling her curly hair slightly Your brother is tough on you but.....you'll be a great ninja one day..never lose hope on that! I believe in you
With that Shizako turned and walked away, leaving Reiko to ponder what she had just said.
